Hello Violet

Puppy Violet was not quite sure what to think of me. She's seen here with parents Travis and Allison at the South Passage Point Park. We were meeting today to prepare for their upcoming wedding at on August 12 at The Yacht Club on Lake Union.

And yes, they are getting married on a Wednesday.

Tanya & Tim at Gas Works Park

Tanya and Tim are getting married next September, so we did some engagement portraits at Gas Works Park, in Seattle.

They are both big Seattle Sounders fans, so they wore their jerseys in some of the photos. Along with the sun and the cool industrial elements, this added a fun aspect to the shoot.

Four generations of the Spaulding family

I had the opportunity yesterday evening to photograph four generations of the Spaulding family. The great-grandparents are in white, grandparents in orange, and each set of parents and kids are wearing blue, brown and red.

The last time they had family photos taken they were short of few of the kids, so they were overdue.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Practice makes perfect

Last night was the rehearsal for Scott and Emily's wedding on July 17 at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club, in Seattle. Everyone was really relaxed and preparing for the big day. The rehearsal was followed by dinner at Anthony's Home Port.
Thanks for inviting me along to capture these moments. I'm delighted to be your photographer.

Scott takes Emily's hand from her dad David.

The wedding coordinator made sure everyone was accounted for and in the right spot.

Scott and mom Regina prepare to walk down the aisle.

Everyone lined up in the order that they will walk.

Scott and Emily are the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Cornish.

I'm now able to create slideshows that can be embedded into
my blog. This is a very cool new tool via Zenfolio.

Out in the Park

This Saturday I finished up the Pride circuit at Tacoma's Out in the Park. It was a lot of fun, and like the other events I met some great people who are interested in getting family photos, senior pictures, or scheduling me for their wedding event! I'd like to thank everyone for the conversations, and enthusiasm about this venture.

In other news, it's a wedding week. Scott & Emily's wedding is on Friday at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club, in Seattle. I took their engagement photos at the Washington Park Arboretum, and I'm excited to see how all of their wedding plans have come together. It's going to be a small ceremony attended by close family, and then a larger reception with the extended family and friends.

Check back soon for more updates.

Congratulations Dain & Lijanne!

Dain and Lijanne met when they were both traveling in New Zealand a few years ago. Dain lives in Bellingham. Lijanne lives in England. They have been planning their wedding and Dain's move to England for a few months, but when Lj arrived on Friday he had his first opportunity to propose face to face on July 4.

I've known them both through my sister, and everyone knew of Dain's plan to take the kayak to the other side of Lake Kachess. I was ready with my camera as they returned-- to capture their moment.

We're so excited for you both, congratulations!

Pigeon, Widgeon, Smigeon & Widgeon

This is really silly, but I wanted to share it. We've had a pigeon family living next door for about three weeks now. I took this picture earlier this week of the babies and dad Pij, and they have doubled in size since then.

So the truth is out-- baby pigeons are not a myth.
