Travis and Allison: August 12, 2009

Travis and Allison did they best they could to have a non-traditional wedding. They didn't want to make too much of a fuss about formal pictures, and wanted me to focus my attention on making creative and distinctly candid images of their day.

Enjoy.

Waiting for the first look...

Allison and her bridesmaids head toward a waiting Travis...

There was a threat of rain that day, so they were prepared with umbrellas...

Travis' nephew looked like he enjoyed being dressed up for his job as their ring bearer...

This park is really a hidden gem...

Travis and Allison wrote their own vows and caused everyone to cry along with them...

Married, with the power vested by the Constitution and the State of Washington (their officiant was funny)...

Jump, if you're happy that it's time to party...

First moment alone after the ceremony (not counting me, of course)...

The bling and a corona bottle...

First dance...

A toast to the happy couple...

Some of what was written on their car was inappropriate (let's blame Tim)...

Carrie & Steve at Coulon

The light was stunning yesterday evening at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, as were Carrie & Steve who are getting married next month. The shoot fit right into their busy day of wedding preparations, following a trip down to the courthouse to apply for their marriage license. The photos from this session will be used as centerpieces on the tables at their reception.

Rachael & Moniqa: A senior year story

Yesterday I had my first session with Rachael and Moniqa who are both seniors at Kentridge High School, and also best friends. You will be seeing more of them on this blog throughout senior year since they're both participating in my Personal Photojournalism package. I'm looking forward to shooting photos of them in action at their swim meet and witnessing more giggly moments like this.
